Onwards with UDK

Gotta put a lot of hours into this if i want something at least half finished...at least udk crashes..less!



I started off with some post processing fiddling to try and see how diff colours would look, with the height fog under the water i think this yellowy glow works quite well



Im having to place grass clumps manually or it doesnt accept lights properly and looks crap, but this is a screeny taking about head height in the small "island" section ive made, i quite like how the light shines in onto part of the grass, i dont think i could get this effect by placing the grass auto, anyway ive tried to make it look quite busy and overgrown so theres a lot going on but i think it looks better than UT maps..which is a shame!



After adding more grass manually..and more foliage and tweaking with the lightmass settings a bit, well thats what ive come up with, another view of the small island, i think the terrains looking bright as i hvent built all yet but either way i think it looks quite good



Another shot of my "island" bit, this is actually pretty much finished shame the rest of the map i still totally bare, i wish i could get the rest of the map with this sort of detail but its not happening my pc will probably blow up first
